Ugh, have you ever felt disconnected from something or someone?!
Well, the operator has stepped in and I heard the tone...
"I'm sorry - you have been disconnected!"
REALLY?!?! What the heck... No option to insert another quarter here?!
The past few days I've been discussing how...
That may sound odd but its true!
You can know everything in the world but if there is no heart, or application to what knowledge you have, it means nothing!
While reading this evening in I Corinthians 12-14 my head was going after one thing and God stopped my heart over something else, LOVE!
The message bible it sums it up like this:
I'm bankrupt if I don't have love and my beautiful words sound like a rusty gate - Whoa - that's some pretty bold statements! If God feels like this towards my actions and words then I'd say He's pretty serious about what I do and say being rooted and grounded in love - HIS love that is!!

...I have a disconnect!
Somewhere between my head and my heart.

While reading this evening in I Corinthians 12-14 my head was going after one thing and God stopped my heart over something else, LOVE!
The message bible it sums it up like this:
“If
I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm
nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God's Word with
power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day,
and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I
don't love, I'm nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and
even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've
gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do,
I'm bankrupt without love.”
I Corinthians 13: 1-7
I'm bankrupt if I don't have love and my beautiful words sound like a rusty gate - Whoa - that's some pretty bold statements! If God feels like this towards my actions and words then I'd say He's pretty serious about what I do and say being rooted and grounded in love - HIS love that is!!
Love is…
Patient
Kind
Never jealous
Not proud or rude
Does not demand its own way
Does not seek its own good
Keeps no records of wrongs
Never gives up
Never loses faith
Always protects
Always trusts
Always hopes
Endures through every circumstance!
(I Corinthians 13:4-7)
I was raised in church but I'm at a place in my life where I'm learning there is a BIG difference from being a "Christian" than there is than being a Disciple of Christ.
Webster defines Disciple as one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrines of another: [such] as one of the twelve in the inner circle of Christ's followers according to the Gospel accounts. Webster also says a Christian is one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
One just believes - as a fire insurance and the other actually follows after the other - the one whom it believes in.
Going back to this concept of LOVE and merging it with the idea of being a DISCIPLE of Christ -
I am CALLED to this
The disconnection between my head and my heart is something I can't fix by reading a book or saying a cookie cutter prayer. God has to fix it - period! It's not that I'm broken either.
I can't wait to see what He does next...

There is a VERY wide gap that separates these two!
One just believes - as a fire insurance and the other actually follows after the other - the one whom it believes in.

...it is NO easy task!

God wants me to fully rely on HIM to connect the dots.
I can't wait to see what He does next...
this is one CRAZY yet amazing journey!
