The Ultimate Adventure

Webster defines Adventure as:

1a : an undertaking usually involving danger and unknown risks  b: the encountering of risks <the spirit of adventure> 2: an exciting or remarkable experience <an adventure in exotic dining>  3: an enterprise involving financial risk

I've always loved adventure.
There is something about that rush...
the adrenaline.
a risk!
...jumping into the unknown.

I began taking adventures in my childhood. My favorite was camping trips up north or in the backyard, fishing on Lake Michigan, family Christmas (oh yes, those were most definitely "adventures" lol) and other little things like jumping off the pool deck, trusting that my Daddy would catch me, letting go of the pools edge in hopes that the drain in the center wouldn't suck me away into the pipes (yes, I really did used to think that) and roller skating in the basement. All the things as we grow into adults that we call LIFE.

As I got older, adventure turned into bungee jumping off platforms and walking across a swinging bridge. The adventure - the risks - all became a little greater with every year that I’ve aged. In my late 20's and early 30's, adventure looked even more risky: packing up a car and moving 2,000 miles away from family and friends to work in a church plant, getting my own apartment; figuring life out on "my own". Learning to SCUBA dive and taking road trips into the mountains; there are so many more adventures to be had.

The ultimate adventure of my life began when I was 12 years old. I didn't really know what I was in for but by the time I was 27 years old, the fog seemed to lift; moment by moment, day by day and God revealed to me a larger ADVENTURE than I could have ever imagined!

Although the things I experienced as a kid, and even as an adult, were grand adventures and all hold sweet memories; however, there was one that trumps them all, walking daily through the ULTIMATE adventure – a relationship with Jesus Christ.

God loves me (and you) so much that He gave up his ONLY Son to die a cruel death

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

I have come that you may have LIFE and have it more ABUNDANTLY

"There is something - Someone - inside us who tells us there is more to life than sitting in the boat. You were made for something more... There is something inside of you that wants to walk on water - to leave the comfort of routine existence and abandon yourself to the high adventure of following God."
