You're in a GREAT place!

"You're in a GREAT place!"

The words mulled over in my mind - over and over.

"You are in a good place. Dana - you are in a GREAT place."

At times I struggle to believe all the things people say to me. Whether it's my looks, my personality or my place with God. But, there was something different about this one time. I seemed to actually believe him.

Derek (who first told me about The World Race), is often telling me - reminding me that I am in a good place. Most of the times when he has said this, I honestly think he is smoking crack and needs to share. 

I never really had gotten it - until now.

My week of training camp went NOTHING like I thought or planned. 
My week of training camp went EVERYTHING like GOD had planned.

It's been interesting to have SO many people ask me about it. People I didn't even think knew I was going to be doing The World Race let alone cared about it; so at times, it's caught me by surprise.

My answer is always the same: It was an INTENSE week; exhausting and LONG. And those descriptions ring true. However, God was working magic behind the scenes that I had NO idea about. I had no idea it would turn out like it did. How can I describe that to someone?! It's something you would have had to see to believe;o)

• I made some extremely close friends.
• I'm most certain Christine will be in my wedding and Seth will be a guest in attendance;)
• I won the award for the most crying in the first two days, although I think "Purple" Britt topped me come Monday night.
• It was a memorable week - yes!

What God did can be summed up with the most quoted phrase that Derek always encourages me with: 

"You are in a GREAT place Dana"

I AM in a GREAT place!! I really AM in a GREAT place!!I BELIEVE that I AM in a GREAT place!

It's the most strange place I have ever been. I feel some freedom in it - a pinch of anxiety with "not knowing" but something I am learning first hand is how to be ok with not knowing. How to be fluid - rolling with whatever GOD is up to because I KNOW that it is something GREAT!

So what's next on the preparation stage...
PRAY for direction (I Thes 5:17)
BUILD my relationship with Christ (Luke 10:38-42)
WAIT to see the goodness of the Lord (Ps 46:10 & 27:13)
OBEY Christ when and where HE calls (Matt 4:19-20)

As the journey progresses and GOD reveals Himself to me... you will be the first to know.
