Ministry.
We often put the idea and applications of ministry in a box and say it looks like "this" and it goes like "that".
Heading to Thailand, ministry looked like a bar with women who need to be loved like Jesus loves. It looked like kids on the street who need to be kids; to color and blow bubbles.
But love, the genuine love of Jesus, sometimes looks like skipping the "formalized ministry" with my team and just loving a sick teammate who needs comfort, peace and prayer. It looks like calling up prayer warriors to be the gap men for your team. It means lifting those up who will be heading into the streets to love the Thai people Christ's love. It means being the hands and feet of Christ wherever He ask me to go, to whomever that may be, at any time and doing whatever He calls me to - because genuine love that loves Christ will do all of the above. It surrenders expectations at the door and says "God, use me.
Whatever, whenever, however."
Sometimes, ministry looks nothing like you thought but it is everything you need! I am praising the Lord for that!! I am reminded, His ways are always perfect.
God works everywhere- not just where we put ministry. It doesn't always look like what we see it as. It doesn't matter were God places me for ministry, the question is am I looking for that opportunity to
serve Christ anywhere He needs and calls me, even when it doesn't look like what I thought it would?!
"This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him." Psalm 18:30 ESV
